Yaowei Wang, Ph.D., is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology.
He is also a guest assistant professor at the National Engineering Laboratory for Video Technology (NELVT), Peking University, China. He received Ph.D. degree on Computer Science from Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005.
His research interests include machine learning, multimedia content analysis, and intelligent surveillance. His team has been one of the top performers in the 2009 and 2010 NIST TRECVID surveillance event detection task. He has published over 20 refereed journals and conference papers in the area of multimedia content analysis.
